Whether it’s your specific job role to focus on creating a ‘greener’ office or not, we all have a responsibility to do what we can to reduce our carbon footprint. Below are five steps that can put you on the right track to your corporate social responsibility goals.

Five steps to a green office:

1. Use electronic tools

There’s now amazing software available which simplifies manual and paper based processes. Cut back on the time, energy and paper used on such processes with workflow management software.Watch our Tangle Teezer case study to find out how workflow software could help your business.

2. Use paper wisely

Print on both sides of the page (this is also called “duplexing”). Print multiple images per page and print only the quantity you need at the time you need it. With a managed print solution you can easily implement these tactics across your printer fleet, making it simple for your workforce to manage their paper usage.

3. Replace copiers or printers with multifunction printers that do it all.

One device that copies, prints, scans, and faxes can use half the energy of all those separate devices. See our products page to find out more about multifunction printers.

4. Don’t throw away empty toner cartridges

Return your cartridges to a reuse and recycle company. Or consider a cartridge-free solid ink printer or multifunction printer, which generates about 90% less waste than a comparable colour laser printer.
